Cannabis is a dioecious plant that produces male and female phenotypes. This means that cannabis growers with regular seeds each have a 50% chance of obtaining a female plant. Only female plants are ever used for flower production or cannabinoid extraction in hemp. As a result, growing hemp from regular seeds is not efficient for these purposes. And this is where our feminized seeds come into play.

Feminized cannabis seeds contain no male chromosomes and only produce female cannabis plants. Feminized seeds are particularly suitable for industrial outdoor cultivation, where seeds are much more cost-efficient than cuttings. Feminized cannabis seeds can of course also be used in indoor and greenhouse production.
The cannabinoid content of hemp plants is regulated by several genes and is strongly influenced by environmental factors. The composition of cannabinoid ratios, on the other hand, is inherited. After many years of research and breeding, FENOCAN has developed a range of resin-rich CBD and CBG-dominant hemp strains that are suitable for legal cultivation in many countries due to their very low THC content.
FENOCAN's CBD and CBG seeds contain CBD concentrations of up to 25% and CBG concentrations of up to 13% respectively, with very low THC levels of less than 0.3%.
In addition to the cannabinoid profiles and yield increase, plant breeding focuses on many other fundamental properties such as germination capacity, terpene profiles, trichome structure, rooting ability and resistance to various disease and environmental influences.
The purity and germination capacity of FENOCAN seeds are tested and certified by Agroscope's Seed Quality Research Group in accordance with ISTA guidelines. Agroscope is affiliated to the Federal Office for Agriculture. ISTA stands for “International Seed Testing Association”. All FENOCAN seeds are 100% free from genetically modified organisms.
